I didn’t have the straw or syringe that this product comes with on me while at camp, so I didn’t mention them. I will mention them here: A straw comes with this product that allows you to drink directly from a water source. It’s good to have if you expect limited water supplies and what water there is to be difficult or impossible to put in a bottle or container. It would allow you to drink from a small and shallow mud puddle essentially. The syringe is used to back flush the filter, using clean water. This is somewhat difficult as you need to hold the syringe tightly against the filter in order for it to work. The syringe is rather large too. I describe it as being the same size as the gas tank for a smart car, but realistically, it is just a bit bigger than the filter itself. Good thing to bring if you expect dirty water sources. Overall, this is a great product that I’m really impressed with overall.
