Pural Water Specialty Co., Inc. is a niche company in the water industry that focuses on a broad spectrum of work from managing water systems, boiler services, chemical treatment, construction, and design/build water treatment plants and pump systems. We are an experienced State of Hawaii licensed contractor providing services for potable and non-potable water systems, water management services and specialty services.
Our services and programs are designed to optimize our customer’s total water/process system performance and protect the environment through water and energy management and conservation.
JOB SUMMARY:
Performs a variety of operations, maintenance and repairs for potable and non-potable water and distribution systems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with the operations, maintenance, and repair activities of water and distribution systems including but not limited to wells, pumps and distribution piping, valves, fire hydrants and flow control devices.
- Performs operations, maintenance and repair activities related to assigned areas, water and water distribution systems including but not limited to water supply springs, wells, pumps, water catchments and storage systems, water filtration treatment plants, distribution piping, valves and flow control devices as assigned.
- Conducts quality control checks upon completion of the job and reports to the contractor or client.
- Makes daily operations and maintenance inspections of assigned areas such as checking chemical feed systems, water collection and storage sites, water filtration treatment plants, and facility distribution system components.
- Installs flow meters, and backflow/cross connection prevention assemblies as assigned.
- Assists in the chlorination and de-chlorination of new and retro-fitted water lines.
- Conducts water sampling of water wells and performs chemical analysis.
- Collects and forwards water samples to certified laboratories for testing to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
- Prepares weekly and monthly water consumption reports for subdivisions water committee as assigned.
- Provides a monthly water usage report for invoicing of customers to Team Leaders.
- Performs assessments on all water and distribution systems and makes recommendation to Team Leader or Operations Manager.
- Working knowledge of water systems and distribution systems.
- Skill in time management to meet deadlines and goals.
- Ability to problem solve with minimal supervision.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma, GED, or the equivalent of a GED and 2 years of related work experience or equivalent work experience and training.
- Minimum 2 years recent related work experience in water systems and distribution systems.
- Current valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Class I or II Distribution System Operator and/or Water Treatment Plant Operator certification.
- Technical knowledge of water distribution systems or related industry.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Description
The primary duties of the Civil Engineer IV is to plan, manage, and supervise staff to carry out all aspects of the CCTV, Condition Assessment and Work Order Formulation Program for the City and County of Honolulu (CCH), Department of Environmental Services (ENV), Collection System Maintenance Division (CSM). The Program includes the following: Task order management and administration, Implementation support for the sewer inspection and condition assessment programs, Data management for sewer inspection and condition assessment data, Quality control for sewer inspection data, Data analysis and sewer condition assessment summaries, Production of Project Scope Reports, Indefinite Deliverable Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Project Management Support, IDIQ Project Development and Contracting Support Duties also require: exercise judgment based on extensive experience and technical expertise; understanding and working with CCH’s financial accounting system and procurement laws; working with CSM’s professional and laborer staff; coordinating work with other CCH departments; and supervise a staff of engineers and technicians. Requirements
Requires a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. Previous design experience in sewer rehab, sewer pipeline, or related pipelines (oil, natural gas, etc) strongly desired. Requires a Civil Engineering PE license. NASSCO certified for Pipeline Assessment required. Demonstrated leadership skills. Must possess ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work independently or as a team member. Must be self-motivated, well organized with good documentation skills and be detail oriented. Must be proficient with MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook) Proficiency in using web based software for construction document control is highly desired. Posses a valid vehicle driver’s license.
