PROJECT MANAGER, Engineering & Design Department

Minimum Requirements :

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Hawaii PE.
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering work experience in water/wastewater infrastructure design and/or construction including at least 5 years as a Project Engineer or Project Manager.
  • Successful candidates must have utilities design experience including site development, drainage, grading, site utilities and relocation, and traffic control plans; erosion control, SWPPP, BMP, and roadway design experience a plus. Multidisciplinary experience including construction cost estimating, scheduling, specifications writing and drainage/water/sewer modeling experience are important.
  • Knowledge and ability to supervise design work using AutoCAD; Civil 3D proficiency a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organization skills.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and as team member and manage multiple projects.
  • Candidates must be business development oriented and motivated to expand URS' business with new and existing clients.
  • In addition, the successful candidate must begin the URS Project Management Course within one month from employment date and become a URS Certified Project Manager within 9 months from employment date.

Position Description :

URS Honolulu is looking for a qualified candidate to join us as a Project Manager in the Engineering & Design Department. Primary responsibilities include planning, design, and management of various infrastructure and site improvement projects. URS incorporates sustainable design concepts in our projects and encourages candidates to plan on being LEED accredited in their area of expertise shortly after hire. As a project manager, the candidate will be responsible for business development, project management and technical oversight activities including, developing and maintaining pursuit lists, preparing proposals, project cost estimates and schedules, project work plans, keeping projects on schedule and within budget, coordinating/scheduling project teams, and coordinating/participating in the preparation of technical reports documenting project activities, findings, and recommendations. This person will also be responsible for the development of new business with existing and new clients. Candidate will be actively involved with development and mentoring of junior level technical staff. He/she must comply with URS' Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture.

SENIOR CIVIL ENGINEER, Engineering & Design Department

  • 5 years of progressively responsible engineering work experience in design, particularly water and wastewater infrastructure.

Management and design of civil engineering projects with an emphasis on water and wastewater infrastructure, site development, roadway projects, and services during construction. URS provides planning, engineering, and construction management services for private clients as well as local, State, and Federal agencies, incorporating sustainable design concepts in our projects. Successful candidates will work very closely with URS project managers, project engineers, and other staff professionals to develop engineering opinions, design recommendations, technical reports, and design documents, including plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates/schedules. Supports efforts to market services to new and existing clients. Successful candidates must comply with URS' Corporate Health and Safety program and actively promote a strong safety culture.
