Blood Parrot Fish Care Tips:

Tank Size: A tank size of minimum 30 gallons for one blood parrot fish and 10 more gallons for each additional blood parrots is recommended.
Tank Setup: Blood Parrots are a very shy fish. Make sure you have lots of hiding places in your tank to make it feel comfortable.
Water pH Level: The ideal pH for Blood Parrots should be between 7.0 to 8.0
Water Temperature: The ideal temperature recommended for Blood Parrots is between 82 to 84 F (26 to 29 C)
Water Filtration: Blood Parrots are a hardy fish. Any sponge or hang on back filter is suitable for them.
Food: Blood Parrots like the pelleted foods with occasional blood worms and shrimps. However, the size of the pellets should be small to fit in their small mouths.
Number of Fish: Any number of Blood Parrots can be kept in a tank following the tank size guide.
Tankmates: Blood Parrots like other Cichlids are territorial and hence not suitable for a community fish tank. However, they can be housed with other cichlids of similar size.
